Indian Seekh Kebabs

Grilled spiced lamb mince on a metal skewers served with chilli sauce, lemon wedges, sliced red onion and flatbread.

Ingredients

  1. 700g minced lamb
  2. 1 egg
  3. 2 large green chillies
  4. 1 onion
  5. 1 tsp coriander powder
  6. 1 tsp ground cumin
  7. 1 tbsp garam masala
  8. 1 large bunch fresh coriander
  9. 1 tsp salt

To serve:

  1. Lemon wedges
  2. Chilli sauce
  3. Flat bread
  4. Raw Red Onion

Directions

  1. Place the lamb mince in a large mixing bowl with the egg, coriander powder, cumin and garam masala.
  2. Roughly chop the onion, chilli and coriander and blend using a food processor until you get a rough paste.
  3. Add the paste to the mixing bowl and massage well by hand until it is all combined and quite stiff then place in the fridge for 2 hours to firm up.
  4. Remove from fridge and squeeze the meat mixture around some metal skewers to form your kebabs.
  5. Place the kebabs on a hot griddle and turn often until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  6. Serve with chilli sauce or lemon wedges, red onion slices and flat bread.
